It took me a good twenty minutes today to decide what book to read next. “The Night Circus” was so great. I thought about running to the used book store, had a few options in mind. Picked out “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close,” by Foer, from a shelf at home, a newly acquired gift from my cousin, but eventually decided I needed a more magical book in my life right now....

Gluten-free Vegan Fruit Crisp
First off, though the title of this entry is defined by what this dessert is free of, it is delicious and unless someone told you it was free of dairy and gluten, I promise you wouldn’t know! Trust me! I think gluten is overused and over-processed, so lately I’ve been making more of an effort to avoid it if possible. I made this one up as I went along, but I can give y’all the...

Also, I would LOVE the recipe for that GF berry crisp with the soy ice cream! :) Take care!

Anonymous asked: I just saw your pic you posted of your avocado tree. I have tried SO many times to grow an avocado tree with my seeds from my avocados. I did the thing where you put toothpicks in the sides and then have the very bottom submerged in water. But for the life of me, I can never get them to grow! How did you get your tree to grow? Did you buy the plant already growing?? Any advice you have would...

All the quotes lately… Just been hittin’ the spot. This one is right on.
You see, you cannot draw lines and compartments, and refuse to budge beyond them. Sometimes you have to use your failures as stepping-stones to success. You have to maintain a fine balance between hope and despair…Yes, in the end, it’s all a question of balance.

Actual life is full of false clues and sign-posts that lead nowhere. With infinite effort we nerve ourselves for a crisis that never comes. The most successful careers must show a waste of strength that might have removed mountains, and the most unsuccessful is not that of a man who is taken unprepared, but of him who has prepared and never taken. On a tragedy of that kind our danger is in...
